About

Paws 2 Pawfection offers Dog Training and Dog Walking in the Chesterfield area. The company was created by Kirsty Allsop and is based in Clowne.

Kirsty created Paws 2 Pawfection because she is passionate about dogs and helping people to build a bond with their dogs and turn struggles into strengths through game based training and fun strategies. All training and strategies are backed by scientific research.

Kirsty has been around dogs most of her life and currently has 3 dogs. She has helped out with training from a young age but her true passion emerged when she started to train her golden retriever and it wasn’t long before she started to volunteer and teach classes at a local dog training club building confidence and experience along the way.

After years of developing her skills and knowledge and working with many spaniel owners Kirsty has become a spaniel specialist.  Kirsty also has her own working cocker spaniel which is where the passion for learning all things spaniel came from. They are exceptionally lively, sensitive, intelligent and cheeky dogs which can sometimes make them a challenge to live with and train. Click here to read more about this.

Kirsty is also experienced in providing training for assistance dogs for charities.

“Kirsty has been brilliant. I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I hadn’t found her. Poppy is my first dog and she has been a challenge to say the least. The little monkey came with no off switch and although I had been trying my best to do reward based training I just wasn’t getting anywhere. Kirsty came along and was very understanding and friendly, and with her help Poppy is gradually making progress. I can’t rate her highly enough… she has saved my sanity!”

“I cannot recommend Kirsty enough! Our initial training enquiry was for loose lead walking however, she has helped with so much more than that. The difference in our puppy’s behaviour in less than 6 months was amazing. We’ve learnt lots of tricks to prevent the spaniel craziness and she now walks brilliantly to heel (when reminded!) More importantly the training sessions are fun for everyone and Kirsty is so patient and encouraging – even on the ‘bad’ days.”

“Kirsty is amazing, she helped me and my very nervous young Whippet, Daisy, to cope with situations that scared her. Kirsty gave me great insight into what happens when Daisy becomes stressed, and showed me how to distract her using treat rewards, and build her confidence with games. We see Kirsty on a monthly basis as this helps both me and my girl. I thoroughly enjoy learning more and more about dog behaviour, and these monthly sessions certainly help Daisy to build up her confidence. I can highly recommend Kirsty.”

“Kirsty is fantastic! Jerry adores her and has done since he was a pup! I now have her walk him once a week, to break up his time coming to work with me. He’s so excited to see her which says a lot about the way Kirsty is with our fur babies! I trust her 100% and know how passionate she is about her work.”

“Evie is my first dog….a very bright, lively and inquisitive Cocker Spaniel. I looked at online training videos but I needed someone to reassure me that what I was doing was effective. Kirsty is an amazing trainer who’s depth of knowledge about how dogs learn is second to none. We had one to one training and it was a tailor made programme to ensure that you can focus on what you want your dog to achieve. I have learnt so much and I feel more confident now on how to get the best from Evie. I highly recommend Kirsty and if I need any specific training for Evie in the future then I shall look no further than Paws2Pawfection. Thank you Kirsty for your patience and for being so supportive and encouraging.”

“My 2 year old Lab Harry and I have had such fun learning together under Kirsty’s expert tuition. Her dog psychology is absolutely common sense, but she really helped me to see where to begin and how to progress with understanding my newly acquired canine friend. We’ve now bonded really well and our trust in each other has grown so that I can now walk Harry with confidence (and pockets full of food). All our sessions were tailored to our needs, with fun exercises to build into our playtimes each day. I recommend Kirsty’s training without hesitation 5⭐

“Kirsty walks Rex and Harry for us twice a week. She is so reliable, there is no-one we would trust more. She is incredibly knowledgeable about dogs and their behaviours and needs. They love their walks with her and get so excited when she arrives to take them out!”
